This generative art NFT from Dmitri Cherniak was just auctioned off by Sotheby’s and it went for a whopping $5.4 million! I am looking forward to going to see it in the 6529 Museum (I think that is where it will end up).
This sale did seem to get a small frenzy of excitement from the NFT community, but by and large we are still in the phase of the cycle where the masses believe that crypto is ded.
The Goose got me thinking about NFT art again and how I am SOOO excited for the future of AR (once we get to a point where it’s not such a clunky device on our faces!) and being able to experience the Metaverse/IRL overlap.
I look forward to the day I walk into my homies crib with my AR glasses on and see all his different art NFTs displayed throughout his space!
Between this rabbit hole and my chat with SimpleZen on Behind the Avatar last week (recording is available for founderKEYZ holders now in our discord, public on friday) I’ve been dreaming BIG time about how the Metaverse is going to come to fruition. We went into detail on my thoughts around this on the show, but in a nutshell, I think we will experience the blended IRL/Metaverse first. And that’s super exciting to me! I think it will be important to experiment with ways of combining IRL and the Metaverse early on so that we don’t all just get sucked completely into the matrix!
